As a proud product of Bessemer City Schools, it is a privilege to serve as Assistant Principal. I am a 1996 Jess Lanier High School graduate. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Social Science at the University of Montevallo in 2000. In 2004, I received my Masters in History Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. By 2010, I graduated again from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I knew that I one day, wanted to be able to help students not only in my classroom but schoolwide, that is why in January of 2012 I began course work at Jacksonville State University and finished with a Masters degree in Instructional Leadership August of 2013.
Not only am I an employee of the Bessemer City School System but also a Teacher Consultant for the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Red Mountain Writing Project where I provide professional development on content area literacies and the Alabama College and Career Readiness Standards.
I am a wife, mother, and a devoted member of my church 28th Street Church of God. My lifelong sisterhood is with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
My excitement and determination to be all that I am purposed to be has propelled me throughout my life and given me great joy in the process!
